Mini Monet Friday March 11, 2011

This past Friday the Mini-Monet group read Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr. Suess. The children first colored Horton's elephant ears and cut them out. We then stapled our ears to a construction paper head band, which they could also color if they chose to. After that we decoupaged plastic easter eggs with tissue paper. Next time we meet we are going to read Horton Hears a Who and make a little clover to hide inside our eggs. There were green and yellow paints at the easles with light green paper to paint on. We also set out foam shamrock stickers that they could place on their paintings since St. Patrick's Day is this Thursday. Before everyone left we took a group picture with us all wearing our Horton the Elephant ears. What a fun class we had!
