This past Friday the children made valentines for their parents. We made Camo Communique's for the Dad's. We camouflaged green cardstock heart cut-outs with green and brown tissue paper. Then we glued on a smaller heart on top. They were able to write a message such as, "I Can't Hide My Feelings For You" or a message of their choice. For the Mom's we made Flower pot valentines. The children colored flower pot cut-outs, and then wrote a message on a small red heart. They then glued the heart to a packet of lavender seeds and placed the seed packets into the folded flower pot cut-outs gluing the sides to hold it together. There was cherry scented red play dough and heart-shaped cookie cutters to play with. We read two books this time; I Love You Through and Through by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak and Hearts & Kisses by Michelle Knudsen. We made each child a personalized foam Valentine and treat bag to bring home. Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!
